This Web site lists the plants that I am growing and a brief description of
each. Also, we would like to let everyone know about our landscaping services...and our seed cleaning services. We have been cleaning Abies fraseri seeds for the State Park service and privately owned seed orchards since 1979. Our landscaping business is just starting up again, something everyone is looking forward to! I hope that you find this information helpful. The best way to get to know
a plant is to visit a garden and observe it personally. In the case of native
plants, try to discover them in their own environment-get outside and look
around! REMEMBER, DO NOT COLLECT PLANTS FROM THE WILD! If you can not go visit
the plants get a good garden book or picture catalog and seek your favorite easy
chair. I would like to suggest that you look up Stewartia psuedocamellia, Sytrax japonica, and
Franklinia altamaha. These are great plants, under used or often overlooked. Another
overlooked plant is the lilium superbum, which is rapidly disappearing from it's native areas, due to over-development. This site is "really"
trying to promote plant growing of any kind, so if you are looking for a certain plant and we don't propagate it, we "will" help
locate it for you, if at all possible. We hope to keep adding to our site and include pictures of our nursery, and of each plant in bloom. Thank you so much for your time and your interest
in native plant materials. Conservation Through Propagation!
LOCATION:
Off NC 88 on Copeland Road(State Road 1345) at Clifton, North Carolina in Ashe County, at the intersection of NC, TN, and VA, at the far northwestern corner of North Carolina. Elevation 3,300 feet. COLD!
Find West Jefferson, NC on your map! Go straight through town and exit it. Take 194 or 88 West out of West Jefferson, you will travel about 14 miles total to LAMTREE FARM NURSERY, you will make "no" turns until you get to Copeland Road, but I will point out Landmarks along the way! 7 miles out of West Jefferson you will come to the Community of Warrensville, with the Post Office on the right and a gas station and Drug Store on the left, and an intersection, keep straight through the intersection, go 5 more miles, you will cross a large concrete bridge, at the end of bridge take a right onto Copeland Road. You will go 2.3 miles on Copeland Road, the road turns into a gravel road and forks once. Keep to the right and take the forth driveway on the left and you are here! Enjoy your visit!
